Understanding Foundation Year Offers

At Bedfordshire we want students to aim for the best results they can, we give students the reassurance of a guaranteed place on a degree with a foundation year, once they have accepted an offer to study with us.

Our degrees with a Foundation Year provide a supportive way for students to work towards a degree level qualification. With our guidance and support students will get up to speed within one year, and will be ready to progress on to undergraduate study at Bedfordshire.

The Foundation Year provides an opportunity to build up their academic writing skills and numeracy, and will also cover a range of subject specific content to fully prepare them for entry to an undergraduate degree.

This is an integrated four-year degree, with the Foundation Year as a key part of the course. Students will need to successfully complete the Foundation Year to progress on to the first year of the Bachelor’s degree.

Study on the Foundation Year is for three days per week.

There is a £500 Foundation Year Bursary available to UK students starting September 2019, and a further bursary of £1,500 available to those progressing to the full 3 year degree.
