Alison FitzGerald

Profile

Alison FitzGerald

Alison FitzGerald joined London City Airport originally as Chief Information Officer (CIO) in January 2014. In this role she has responsibility for the delivery of all technology services to the business, has led a multi-million pound transformation programme, spearheaded operational improvements and built a talented new IT team, and is credited with adding £30 million to the value of the business when it was sold in February 2016.

Alison has also prioritised improving LCY’s world class passenger proposition through working with government (Innovate UK) and London based tech firms such as Crowd Vision, who measure terminal passenger flow and Avtura who are using A.I solutions to improve aircraft turnaround times. This has enabled the airport to continue to offer a fast, efficient service despite year-on-year increases in passenger numbers.

In September 2016 Alison was appointed as LCY’s Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to the airport, Alison was CIO at the Financial Times where she was responsible for both print and digital technology. Before joining the FT, Alison spent 16 years at Abbey/Santander where she held a number of Senior Management technology positions. She holds a professional Non-Executive Director qualification and has been a Governor on the Board of the University of Bedfordshire since November 2012 where she also chairs the Audit and Risk Committee.
