Commencing studies from September 2019 and have not previously been registered at the University of Bedfordshire or the University of Luton.
Applicants may hold a Sport scholarship plus a Merit scholarship, Bursary or Foundation year, integrated degree bursary.
Successful students must maintain an appropriate standard of behaviour throughout their course of study and in their accommodation at the University of Bedfordshire. If a recipient does not meet the appropriate standard of behaviour and the bursary is withdrawn from that individual, it will not be offered to another student from that cohort. The University may also seek to reclaim monies paid.
Successful students must also ensure that they pay all their rental installments to Campus Living Villages on time and in full. If a recipient does not meet payment schedules set out by Campus Living Villages the bursary may be withdrawn from that individual, it will not be offered to another student from that cohort. The University may also seek to reclaim monies previously paid Campus Living Villages and the individual will become liable for the full amount of the rent due on their accommodation to Campus Living Villages.
You are not eligible for a bursary if:
The University reserves the right to withhold payment of the bursary if you withdraw, interrupt, do not attend or otherwise do not progress satisfactorily.
The deadline to apply for the first 50 bursaries will be 30th June 2019. The remaining 50 bursaries will be awarded during Clearing and the deadline to apply will be 30th April 2020.
Once the University has received confirmation of household income, students will be considered for a bursary on a first come first serve basis.
Meeting the eligibility criteria does not automatically mean an Accommodation bursary will be awarded as there are only 100 bursaries available.
Students will be pre-approved for an accommodation Bursary, however this will not be confirmed and paid until students have registered on their course and moved into their accommodation.
Once pre-approved, the University will contact applicants using the email address provided on the enquiry form. It is the student’s responsibility to check this account regularly for important information regarding the payment of their bursary.
Students may be released from the Campus Living Villages contract if students are not awarded the Accommodation Bursary, and have not already moved into their accommodation.
The Vice Chancellor will make any judgements required regarding the granting of bursaries and scholarships on an exceptional basis to students who claim to have mitigating circumstances. Requests should be sent to the Senior Student Money Advisor in the first instance.
The bursary will be paid to the nominated accommodation provider in three termly instalments for the academic year starting in October 2019/20. This bursary is for the first year only and it is not continuous.
