  • The core unit (Dental Education in Practice)

The course is endorsed by the Academy of Dental Educators; this means on successful completion you can apply for membership through the ‘fast track’ accredited course route. The course therefore provides a sound basis for evidencing your competence as a dental educator and trainer.

The course enables you to adopt a critical stance to your own and others’ educational practice and to propose ways to enhance student and trainee learning experiences. You will rehearse these skills through opportunities for peer observation of teaching and collaborative activity (including o-line work).

This course will equip you with the skills and understanding to provide excellent and enjoyable training opportunities to less-experienced professionals in your field, such as vocational trainees or foundation dentists.

Committing to understanding how you, your students and your trainees learn and how we can facilitate this effectively will transform your approach to learning and teaching and increase both your confidence and competence as an educator.
