Ashley McCormac

Senior Lecturer in Child and Adolescent Studies

Ashley McCormacI have been lecturing at the University of Bedfordshire for 10 years. My background as a practitioner is eclectic – but grounded in youth justice. My professional experience started shortly after graduating by volunteering at a homeless shelter, followed by a period working in the United States in a young offenders programme for adolescents primarily involved in gang-related activity and crime. Upon my return, I worked for a community drug project and residential rehabilitation centre for adolescents with substance dependency issues. I have also worked in the Youth Offending Teams before working as a therapist in high-supervision children’s homes working with harmful sexual behaviours.
