Pindurai Makufa
Lecturer in Health and Social Care
I have been teaching science in a number of educational settings since I qualified with a degree in English and History in 1984. I developed a keen interest in Public Health working with Non Governmental Organisations including the United Nations Development Programme in different developing countries. I took up several lecturing positions with a number of High education institutions before joining University of Bedfordshire
I joined the University Bedfordshire in June 2018 as an HPL and subsequently on fulltime basis as from February 2019 within the Health and Social Care London Campus. I have taught on a variety of modules including Understanding Human Services, Mental Health and Society, Contemporary Issues, Health Issues, Gender, Age and Ethnicity and Examining Research. This has included monitoring students’ progress and engagement. I enjoy teaching multicultural group and celebrating that diversity which produces a rich mix in a learning environment. I am passionate about developing learning and critical thinking skills for the mature students, some of whom would have left school a little while ago. This is coupled by my passion and commitment to issues of Health, especially in Health and Social care settings.
