Bernadette Henderson

Senior Lecturer in Children's Nursing

Bernadette Henderson

With a background as a child, neonatal and adult nurse, my role in higher education focusses on delivering, assessing and redeveloping aspects of the child nurse curriculum alongside clinical leadership and management.

I am interested in what shapes learning journeys and how different pedagogical approaches influence learning. Building on the principles of play as a gateway to imagination, adventure, experimentation and collaboration, our mixed method research is revealing how flipped learning techniques, game simulations and different debriefing strategies affect the adult experience of higher education.
