I have been employed at the University of Bedfordshire for over 25 years and have been fortunate to have worked in the nursery and library prior to my current position within the clinical skills suite at Park Square. My present post as Simulation Technician for clinical skills and simulation requires me to organise and facilitate practical skills for a variety of healthcare professions within the broader HSS. This involves the training and practical development of Adult nurses, Midwifery, Operating Department Practice, Paramedics, Mental Health, Child Nursing and Post Graduate Students.

Qualifications

  • BETC Diploma in Caring
  • CLAT (Microsoft Programming)

Teaching Expertise

Primary responsibilities include, orientating student and staff to the clinical skills suite, its equipment and use as well as part skills training devices such as Intravenous Cannulation, Catheterisation and Aseptic Technique. I am also able to support and enhance simulation processes within exam OSCEs as a patient.
