BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies

Why did you choose the University of Bedfordshire?

Personally I look out for standard and proficiency in things I consider serious like studying. When I applied to study abroad, I got three admissions: Sunderland, Bedfordshire and Worcester.

Although I did not have much information except from what I read online, I was able to single out Bedfordshire as the university which would be able to give me the quality of educational background I needed.

I did not know much about the University of Bedfordshire, but their letter spoke for them, showing me how serious and detailed they can be with studies. That is why I chose this University.

What has been the most challenging task you have accomplished in your degree?

Writing a literature review. I had knowledge about conducting a research study of which a literature review is part of it, but I had no idea that a literature review could be done as a dissertation. It was challenging initially, but in the end, I am glad I was able to complete it successfully.

How did this course prepare you for employment?

I have more confidence in standing out for any employment I desire to have. My confidence was not only improved by my course, but by the entire process of studying, learning how to write a British CV and my internship with the University's SID (Student Information Desk)

Additionally, my confidence grew through use of computer training sessions available at the University and the method of learning which gives students the opportunity to express themselves, their views and opinions at ease.

Why would you recommend this course to others?

I have already recommended University of Bedfordshire to my friends who intend to study here next academic year. This is because I found the method of learning interesting and self developing.

We got to search and find solutions and answers to questions or problems of our own choice. That way, I was able to know things that I would not have known if the tutor had told us everything in class and given us notes.

Which practical aspects of the course did you enjoy the most and why?

Patient safety is not only interesting but have laid a foundation from which I can identify strategies to disseminate safety culture in my country where patient safety has not been enforced as a priority in care sector.

What did you like about the facilities?

The facilities are awesome and the environment is always neat and conducive.

Which university services did you use most and why?

The IT suites and the digital library. I knew little about IT before I came to study, but the digital library gave easy access to books and journals. I got to study anytime and anywhere I wanted to stay and study.

Any advice for people thinking of studying at the University of Bedfordshire?

Yes. Among the few schools I have known, I would say it is one of the best.

What did you like most about living and studying in Bedfordshire?

I loved the environment, the buildings, the facilities provided for students, the method of learning and the good relationship between staff/tutors and students. The staff were always willing to help or provide alternatives.

What skills do you think you have learnt as a result of your studies at the University?

Critical thinking skills, team work as in group work, how to speak and write English that can be easily understood by almost everyone. I also learnt time management through meeting assignment deadlines.

Why would you recommend the University of Bedfordshire to others?

Because I am simply happy with their standard of learning and support to students.
