Maria Wiener

My practice-led PhD research was on Video and Animation Projections in Contemporary Dance Performances (University of Southampton, 2006).

My background studies include BA (Hons) in Political Science, MA in Ideology and Discourse Analysis and MA in Directing and Editing Fiction Productions.

Before joining the University of Bedfordshire I worked as Assistant Director and Production Manager in films, TV series, operas, theatrical performances and dance performances.

My experience also includes extended experimentation with an animation technique, entitled Motion Capture, taking on the role of the digital choreographer.

The animation works I have created have gained awards in national and international festivals and have been broadcast by MTV Europe.
