Financial Support for the Academic Year 2015-16

Full-time undergraduate students

Whilst there were changes to the fee structure from the academic year 2012, students from England studying for a first degree or other higher education qualification can normally obtain a tuition fee loan from SLC to cover tuition fee costs.

Bachelor's level EU students are eligible to receive loans from the British government to cover their tuition fees (just as UK students are), and the University also offers bursaries and scholarships to EU students on the same basis as to UK students.

No Upfront Costs

All eligible students may apply to the Student Loans Company for a tuition fee loan to support their studies and you will only start to pay back when you are earning over £21,000 per year.

Loans for Living Costs

  • A loan of up to £5,740 will be available if you live away from home and study outside London.
  • A loan of up to £4,565 will be available if you live with your parents.

Non Repayable Grants

  • If your household income is £25,000 or less, you will be entitled to a full grant of £3,387 which is not repayable.
  • If your household income is between £25,001 and £42,620 you should be entitled to a grant of between £50 and £3,387. This money is not repayable.

Continuing students

These changes to tuition fees applicable from AY 2012 do not apply if you commenced your studies during or prior to the academic year 2010-11.
