Postgraduate: Full-time study

Full-time taught courses usually take one full academic year to complete. Unless you are completing a research-based course which can take longer - a PhD could take three years to complete.

Advantages of studying full-time

  • Enables you to focus entirely on the course
  • Allows you to take full advantage of university life and the social life
  • You can gain a qualification in as short a time as possible

International students tend to favour studying full time as there are restrictions on the number of hours they can work whilst studying, and it could affect their visa requirements.
