On April 16th 2018, Professor Ashraf Jawaid OBE, Deputy Vice Chancellor, and Harry Wang, Director of International Office, joined staff of the University of Bedfordshire’s China Office for a ‘We love Beds’ workshop on a hired yacht on Huangpu River in Shanghai. The event was organised to promote four new postgraduate courses with work placements (detailed below). Over 20 representatives from major recruitment organisations in China attended the informative and innovative event on the yacht in Shanghai, China’s biggest metropolitan city with a population of over 24 million.
On behalf of the University, Professor Jawaid thanked China Office staff and all attending representatives who have made significant contributions to the University’s recent success in China. He also used the occasion to update everybody present, and through them the University’s key partners in China, the University’s latest achievements and the exciting projects and attractive initiatives which can be expected in the coming year. It was a memorable and inspiring day of strengthening relationships and enhancing friendships for all.
After the meeting, which also included introductions to our new facilities, new policies, and an interactive Q&A session, attendees enjoyed bespoke desserts featuring the University logo, while the yacht sailed to the famous Bund area and the Oriental Pearl Tower, a landmark of Shanghai.
International students can now apply to our four new placement courses which are 22 months in duration. As with all postgraduate courses in the Business School, these follow the innovative block delivery model with six intakes per year.
