CVDA in Horizon 2020

Centre for Visualisation and Data Analytics

The Centre for Visualisation an Data Analytics (CVDA), which has long experience of European projects, going back to Framework 4 some 18 years ago, has just been awarded its first H2020 project. Overall, CCGV has been involved in 31 international projects, with 28 funded by the European Commission distributed as follows:

  • FP4: 4
  • FP5: 5
  • FP6: 3
  • FP7: 15
  • H2020: 2

CVDA has also been involved in 5 projects funded by UK research councils. The total value of the above projects is over €70 million, with income received by CVDA reaching over €7.5 million.

Recent projects have focused mainly on the biomedical area, covering applications related to cancer, heart failure, osteoporosis, cardiorenal problems, and different surgical procedures, but there have been other projects concentrating on scientific creativity, specific activities related to SMEs, etc. Of particular interest for the future involvement of CVDA in H2020 are applications in mHealth and the application of novel technologies in the development of next-generation healthcare systems.

Partners in CVA's projects have included 8 universities in the World's Top 20 (2014-5 rankings: www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings) and many other universities in over 30 countries around the world, majormultinational companies such as Philips and Fiat, large teaching hospitals (Mayo Clinic, Charité, Moorfields, etc.), niche-markettechnological companies such as Ansys, Kitware, …, and numerous SMEs, both local and international.

CVDA would welcome further opportunities for collaboration – locally, nationally or internationally; it has regularly acted as Project Coordinator on the projects mentioned above and has an unblemished record in delivering quality technology, on time, and within budget, over many years. It is already planning further proposal submissions to H2020.
