This is an update from the University of Bedfordshire on the current UK Visas and Immigration situation.

The University’s licence to recruit Tier 4 (international) students is intact, and has not been suspended.

Our issuing of ‘Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies’ (CAS) letters is currently paused, pending a report from UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), which we expect before the end of July.

The UKVI report follows a full audit, which we had been expecting. We have co-operated closely with UKVI, and demonstrated the robustness of our procedures during the recent visit.

We take our immigration compliance responsibilities extremely seriously, and welcomed the opportunity to further demonstrate our pro-active processes.

We continue to work closely with UKVI to review and monitor the situation, before the expected report at the end of the month.

The current situation does not affect current international (or home) students in any way, and they should carry on with their studies as normal. Those who have received CAS letters before the pause (24 June) can continue to apply for their visas.

Through our dedicated advice line, we have been working with international students (and prospective students) on any questions relating to their CAS or their visas.

The advice line number is: +44 (0)1582 489322 and it is open from 08:30 to 17:00 UK time, Monday to Friday.

Students are also encouraged to visit the University’s International Office during office hours with any queries or questions.
