Shoppers at Luton’s ‘The Mall’ will get a taste of student life when the University of Bedfordshire moves down to the mall.

On Friday 5th and Saturday 6th September the University is taking over the space in front of Marks & Spencer with a series of demonstrations and workshops to give local people the chance to experience life at the University.

A criminal facial reconstruction demonstration from the Psychology department; as well as an ultrasound demonstration from Sports Therapy and a Community Dance Class hosted by the Performing Arts department are just some of the taster sessions on offer over the two days.

Also available will be experts from the University, who will be able to talk through any questions people might have about going to university, university life and courses they can study.

Visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions about student finance and get advice on drafting a personal statement for their UCAS application.

The University, which is preparing to receive its next intake of new students at the end of September, still has a limited number of places available for a September 2014 start.

Courses with availability include, Biological Science, Health and Social Care, Business Management, Health Psychology, Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Child and Adolescent Studies plus many others.

Bill Rammell, Vice Chancellor, University of Bedfordshire, said: “My message to students is - whatever your background or ability, you can flourish here at Bedfordshire.

“Students who choose to join the University of Bedfordshire this year can be confident we are committed to ensuring they will have the best possible student experience, backed by high quality teaching, outstanding facilities and great support.”
