Performing Arts students gain real life experience working as extras on Disney’s upcoming live-action film Dumbo.

Students George Kourmourlakis, Donna Greco, Bonnie O’Hara and Despoina Natsiou will feature in the film, directed by Tim Burton and starring Eva Green, Colin Farrell and Michael Keaton.

The students spent four weeks working on the film at the Cardington Studios in Bedford.

Third year Performing Arts student Despoina said: “It was an amazing experience. I met some amazing people, had the opportunity to work with my favourite director Tim Burton and some of Hollywood’s biggest names. I have also got myself into the casting collective’s books for more jobs to come.”

MA Dance student Donna said: “The highlight of working in Dumbo was to be able to work on different sets where all the actors were in the scene. To be in the same room and so close in proximity to them was just amazing. I made so many friends from this job and I have learnt so much about the film industry which I will never forget.”

Third year Performing Arts student Bonnie said: “Working on Dumbo was a great experience for me, especially seeing the amount of hard work and detail that goes into a film. It was fascinating to see and has made me appreciate the process of filming.”

Dumbo is scheduled for release in the UK 29th March 2019.
