The University of Bedfordshire’s Hockey Club will complete a continuous 32-hour hockey match to raise money for Sport Relief.

The event will see the Bedfordshire Bulls men’s and women’s teams come together to create a mixed super team that will take on anyone and everyone in non-competitive hockey games on Saturday 24 March from 12pm to Sunday 25 March at 8pm.

Teams from the Bedford Hockey Club and Chertsey Thames Valley Hockey Club are also lined up to take part, as well as the Bedford Hockey Club U14’s team.

President of the Bedfordshire Bulls Hockey Club Joshua Fisher said: “We are all really looking forward to the event and we hope to raise a significant amount for Sport Relief. We hope that with the support and generosity of students, staff and the local community, we can smash our target to raise £3,000.

“I’ll be attempting to play the whole thing – it will be hard and my body may be sore but it’s for a very worthy cause.”

There will be refreshments for sale throughout the day and a raffle with a variety of hockey and Easter themed prizes up for grabs. All proceeds made will go towards the fundraising total for Sport Relief.

Location: University of Bedfordshire, hockey AstroTurf pitch, Polhill Avenue, Bedford, MK41 9EA.
