Katy R Hohmann

Director of Studies for EFL

Katy Hohmann

I joined the University in 2014, as Director of Studies for English as a Foreign Language. I am responsible for planning, implementation and management of international Pre-sessional, EU Foundation, and Communication skills programmes, as well as part- time English language improvement courses. My background is in business, management and education and I spent several years working in the commercial world, as well as in Further and Higher Education.

I have taught English as a Foreign Language and English for Specific Purposes in the UK, Germany and the Czech Republic and have had extensive experience of working with international students and developing new markets and educational programmes.

Having worked overseas, using a different language, I know the feeling of culture shock and feeling like you are starting from the beginning again. I, and my team, are happy to help you on the next step of your educational journey.
