Days out further afield
If you fancy getting out and about then why not venture further afield and explore the surrounding areas.
You'll have lots of activities to choose from including the following:
- Woburn Abbey is set in 3,000 acres of deer park, with 10 species of deer roaming free. The Abbey houses impressive private collections of art, furniture and porcelain. Also in Woburn is the Safari Park where you can drive alongside white rhinos, tigers, lions and giraffes
- The Birds of Prey and Conservation Centre near Biggleswade is one of the UK's largest bird of prey centres - with over 300 birds and displays throughout the day
- Ascott House near Leighton Buzzard offers an exceptional collection of paintings, oriental porcelain and fine English and French furniture. The house also boasts a mixture of Dutch gardens
- Xscape in Milton Keynes offers a variety of activities such as skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, indoor skydiving, rock climbing and a 16 screen cinema, bowling, arcades, restaurants and cocktail bars
- Mead Open Farm near Leighton Buzzard offers you the chance to ride go karts, play crazy golf and pet and feed a variety of animals. You can even milk your own cow!
- Hoo Hill Maze in Shefford is a great day out. The maze is about 30 metres square and gives you the chance to work your way through your very own labyrinth
- Beadlow Manor Golf and Country Club in Shefford is set in 300 acres and offers a golf course and a wide variety of beauty treatments - perfect for a pamper day
- Champneys Henlow Grange in Henlow offers luxurious facilities and spa treatments as well as fun activities like water netball, aqua woggle and dance classes. Henlow also offers cycling and power walks through the picturesque Bedfordshire grounds
- Knebworth House in Hertfordshire is one of England's most loved stately homes and is now known all over the world for its huge open-air rock concerts - but not everyone is aware of its history and romance. Take a tour of the house and see the rooms that Elizabeth I, Charles Dickens and Winston Churchill stayed in
- Wicksteed Park, located at Junction 15 of the M1, provides a great day out. Ride the roller coasters, the racing cars, dodgems and much more
- Thorpe Park offers a selection of thrilling rides such as Nemesis Inferno, Detonator and Stealth where you travel to the dizzying heights of 205ft after accelerating from 0-80mph in less than two seconds
- London offers a wide variety of entertainment and places to see, and you'll find that many of the city's famous landmarks and sites are free to visit including the Tate Modern, and British Museum. You can take a tour bus around the city, or do a spot of shopping along one of London's famous streets
