Trips to report on legal proceedings in court
You will have the opportunity to report on a real case, observing all the necessary legal requirements. Reporting on court cases is an excellent way of honing your skills.
Structuring arguments
Journalism requires a clear understanding of the facts of a story and the ability to build these into a coherent and compelling argument. Through practical assignments you will hone your critical thinking skills.
Mock interviews
Carrying out journalistic interviews is a core skill that you will learn from the start of the course.

Practical assessments relating to magazine layouts
You will learn how content comes to together in the magazine industry to create compelling page designs.

You will work in our professional newsroom on live "news days" allowing you to bring all your skills together in an intensive high-pressure experience that will really build your confidence.
Editorial experience and roles in workshops
You will have the opportunity to take on an editorial role within a "news day", directing news gathering and making important decisions about lead stories and the priorities for the day.
