Your CV

  • Make sure your CV is up to scratch. Refer to our CVs and Applications section for help.
  • If you need feedback on your CV; you can attend one of our drop-in sessions or up-load a copy through SiD online. One of our advisers will then review it and give you feedback. Graduates who no longer have access to SiD online can send their CV via our e-guidance service. Details of e-guidance and our other service provision can be found under Get Advice.

Check the local press

  • Look in the local press and watch out for adverts in shop windows, pubs, clubs and restaurants, particularly in the run up to Christmas
  • Local ads are also posted here

Try the agencies

  • Find out which agencies are recruiting temporary staff by searching on Agency Central

Finding part-time work is not always easy, there is a lot of competition and employers can be choosy!

You need to be proactive and creative in your job search. Not all vacancies are advertised, so speculative applications and networking could be key if you are to succeed.
