What is the NSS?

The National Student Survey (NSS) is a nationally recognised annual survey of final year undergraduates in the UK.

The NSS asks final year students to reflect back on their time at Bedfordshire, to give a view of their experience to assist other students thinking about where they may like to study.

Have your say and make a difference

The survey is administered by Ipsos MORI, an independent market research agency, so answers remain anonymous at all times.

Why should I take part?

  • The NSS provides you with the opportunity to provide honest feedback on your student experience.
  • Your feedback will be used to improve, or celebrate the student experience at Bedfordshire.
  • The results are taken very seriously and inform the quality assurance system with regards to teaching quality.
  • Results are used by prospective students, their families and advisors to make decisions on what and where to study.
  • The survey is administered by Ipsos MORI, an independent market research agency, so answers remain anonymous at all times.

What happens with the results?

The NSS results are made publicly available to help prospective students, their families and advisors make informed decisions of where and what to study.

The University of Bedfordshire and Beds SU also use the data to identify areas of strengths and weaknesses to bring about change and enhancements to improve the student experience for future generations of students.

How do I complete it?

From January each year, eligible students can fill in the survey online or via a mobile device at www.thestudentsurvey.com or via one of our NSS stations.

Our NSS Ambassadors also visit your lectures and encourage you to participate. For those of you not based on the main sites, we will be visiting you at your campuses - and we'll bring the prize wheel with us. So don't worry, you won't miss out!
