Curriculum framework [CRe8]
Our recently launched interactive website captures good practice cases which will be developed on an ongoing basis following identification of material by departments, faculties, the Professional Teaching Scheme- Higher Education Academy processes, and from collegial and student recommendations.
Titled ‘Changing worlds and futures thinking’, the curriculum framework CRe8 reflects a range of principles and elements - PDF 46.6 KB which were approved by Academic Board in April 2015.
The following are amongst those cases illustrating how education for sustainability is put into practice by academics in a range of subject areas.
- Sociology - Students as agents of change by Dr Helen Connolly
- Applied Social Science - Collaborative learning by Dr Helen Beckett
- Management and Business Systems - Employer involvement and sustainability by Dr Sarah Williams
- Business Systems and Operations - Multi-cultural learning by Dr Giuseppe Adamo
- Psychology - Cultural sensitivity by Dr Alfredo Gaitan
- Transdisciplinary - Model UN World Climate Negotiations by Dr Diana Pritchard (pending).
The University Annual Conference provides an opportunity to identify existing - and nurture further - interest in the field.
