BAME Focused Literature

Build Our Community One Book At The Time

In a world where our imagination and all its possibilities are fuelled by the books that we read, this can inspire or equally limit us from a very young age. This is true especially for children from a BAME background.

Book display in Luton Mall

This Saturday 14th August make your way to Unit 126 in the Mall Indoor Market between 12pm and 5pm.

No Ordinary Bookshop will be hosting a day of activities including storytelling by BAME guest authors (short video introductions) - card making, face painting and even a science lesson. All this complete with a 15% discount on children’s novels.

Angel Miller, a local businessperson and trailblazer, opened this store specifically to fulfil the needs of BAME young readers from an array of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

This is immediately discernible in the tapestry of books available - baby books, bilingual fairy stories, YA fiction, social issues and a section for Black History Month.

There is something for everyone.

The store is also available online and ships - www.noordinarybookshop.co.uk
