The Faculty of Education, English & Sport prides itself on providing excellent teaching and learning, a supportive friendly environment and outstanding partnership working. We have a commitment to provide outstanding courses in education, sport and English language and we have high aspirations for our students and staff.

The Faculty is based at the Bedford campus and we have academic roots that go back to 1882 in general education and to 1903 in physical education. We have built on this experience to deliver rich learning experiences, exceptional teaching, internationally recognised research, and excellent graduate employment rates.

Our students come from diverse social and cultural backgrounds and this creates a vibrant exciting place to study. We provide a supportive environment and work in partnership with our students to co-create curriculum and learning opportunities. Student Voice is embedded within the Faculty culture and we pro-actively seek student ideas to support us in evolving and developing.

We work closely with many schools, colleges and partner organisations, who share our commitment to our students and support us in providing a range of opportunities. These range from providing placement, subject expertise and setting visits during studies, and job opportunities on graduation. We support our students to gain graduate jobs and we continue that support after graduation.
