Journalist, author and think-tanker David Goodhart will examine value divisions in British society in a lecture at the University of Bedfordshire on Thursday 21 June.

In his lecture, “Is Mass Higher Education Widening Britain’s Value Divides?” David will discuss the value divisions in British society that help to explain the Brexit vote and the rise of populism, which he also discusses in his new book, The Road to Somewhere: The New Tribes Shaping British Politics, which is a Sunday Times bestseller.

David’s lecture, which is free to attend, is part of the University’s Public Policy Lecture Series, aimed to give students, staff and the local community access to high-profile speakers who can give their perspective on the key political and policy issues that affect our society.

David is currently head of the demography unit at the Policy Exchange think tank. He is the founder and former editor of Prospect magazine and the former director of the centre-left think tank Demos.

The lecture will start at 6pm in G101 at the Luton campus, with tea and coffee served from 5.30pm in Café Neo. There will be drinks and refreshments following the lecture.
