CVDA Externally Funded Projects from 2013

Visual analytics and data mining is currently our main research direction. Other related research interests include web mining, computer vision, image processing and computer graphics. We are working on:

1. Digital Healthcare and leading research activities in exploring innovative technologies to support the reshape of future healthcare via promoting patient empowerment and self-management for general health and chronic conditions. We have also been actively involved in research activities in digital health that are related to computer assisted diagnosis, clinical decision support, in-silico medicine and digitalization of health records.
2. Meanwhile, we are also interested in Creative Computing, in which we are leading research activities in promoting human creativity in scientific research by utilising empowered data mining of rich sets of web resources. All of these works involve a significant amount of effort in data mining and machine learning to support knowledge discovery the domain applications.
3. Information Access and Retrieval (IAR) to enable us to build information systems that can support a user’s information needs more effectively and efficiently.
