Improving access to general practice for minority ethnic communities and older people living in areas of high deprivation in Luton

It is expected that being able to request a GP appointment online will improve access. Although online systems may be more efficient, there are concerns they could widen the digital divide and worsen health inequalities. This project draws on the experiences of residents in Luton as well as GPs and practice staff, to explore how online systems affect older people and ethnically diverse communities living in areas of high deprivation.  Working with primary care, community and voluntary organisations, the research will identify barriers and enablers to access and develop recommendations to support more equitable access to general practice.
