From online behavioural marketing to in-game advertising, and from SMS marketing to app-based adverts, digital marketing has revolutionised the way advertisers sell and consumers buy. And as the established major players and ambitious start-ups continue to develop and expand the landscape, so a ‘digital skills gap’ has appeared, both in the UK and internationally.

This course aims to help fill that gap by providing you with the knowledge and expertise you will need to make an impact in this rapidly expanding global industry.

How will I be assessed?

A range of assessments are used on this course including:

Written Examination or Class Test

Questions in these exams always promote critical thinking and help you gradually develop your ability to apply, analyse, synthesize and evaluate.

Individual Written Report or Essays

Your knowledge and skills are developed when you undertake the task of writing an individual report and the whole process contributes to your improvement when it comes to conducting postgraduate level research and developing your enterprise. The ability to perform literature informed research, to review and evaluate the relevant sources and to use an appropriate methodology in order to analyze and evaluate the relevant concepts is being assessed.

Case Study Examination

You will apply your knowledge in the context of a specific case.

Oral Presentation

A number of transferable skills will be developed including the ability to present your findings in a professional, clear and concise manner. This form of assessment is primarily used as formative assessment usually followed by a reflective report.

Reflective Report

Evaluating your own contribution to a team is essential in the context of this course but in the workplace as well.

Dissertation / Professional Practice / Live Project

Regardless of which master’s capstone experience you opt for, you will have to produce an individual, independent piece of work. You will be asked to identify the research question or problem under investigation, review the relevant literature, develop a sound methodology in order to explore the problem, proceed with the analysis, discuss your findings and make recommendations. It is the capstone of this course and builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in all Units. It will be one of the most challenging but yet enjoyable and rewarding experiences you will encounter.

Applicants should have a good undergraduate degree at Honours level, or equivalent.

Fees and funding

The full-time standard fee for a taught Master's degree for the Academic Year 2018/19 is £6,990 per year. You can apply for a loan from the Government to help pay for your tuition fees and living costs. Visit www.gov.uk/postgraduate-loan

Facilities

Our flagship £34m Campus Centre is funky and functional. It brings together all our student services, social and learning spaces, and a 240-seat lecture theatre under one roof.

The Campus Centre building is connected to the rest of the University and the first floor acts as a one-stop shop for all students services.

Designed for work as well as play, the Campus Centre incorporates relaxed learning zones with Wi-Fi access.

It also features the Students' Union support services and executive offices alongside places to eat

Accommodation at Luton

Our contemporary en-suite accommodation features 852 fully-furnished flats, just part of our accommodation offering of more than 1,500 study rooms.

This exciting new facility includes:

Directions to Luton campus

Luton is the largest town in Bedfordshire and is approximately 50km north of London.

It has excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and Europe, and central London is only a 30-minute train journey away.

Luton is has excellent transport links to other cities such as Manchester, Leeds and Milton Keynes. London Luton Airport is located just 2.5km from the Luton campus.
