This course has a part-time route to help you fit your studies around existing commitments.

Our Life Sciences Liaison Board features representatives from Luton Borough Council and organisations such as TeknTrash, who are experts in areas such as climate change and waste management using AI.

Opportunities for industry links through external visits to Rothamsted Research and Biogen as well as collaborations with other institutions such as Shuttleworth College.

About the course

In our forward-thinking course, you focus on environmental change on a local and global scale before exploring the principles and sustainable techniques underlying its effective management. You investigate cutting-edge biotechnological solutions at the forefront of modern innovation and, with our student-centred teaching, go on to assess how they work in practice via real-world projects and hands-on application. You also have the opportunity to explore your specialist interests with an MSc research project of your choosing.

Careers


Graduates of this course can choose from a wide range of career paths in environmental science and management in the public and private sectors including environmental agencies and ecological consultancies; biotechnological environmental and agricultural research organisations; academic institutions; national and international government agencies and non-governmental bodies; and related business and industry including food security.

You also have the option of further study leading to PhD.
