Joly George

Lecturer in Applied Social Science

Joly Titus

I have been teaching health and social care, business and psychology subjects in a number of educational settings in the United Kingdom since I qualified with a masters degree in Psychological Approaches to Health and Management in 2008.

I joined the University of Bedfordshire in September 2017. My position is Lecturer in Applied Social Science. I enjoy adopting a creative and innovative approach to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I am also an Ex-British Psychological Society Graduate member. My teaching is heavily influenced by my research experience and interests. I have been enjoying developing my students’ critical thinking to enable them to create links to contemporary social issues. I teach in an interactive and inclusive style, following a pedagogy teaching approach that seeks to engage all students regardless of academic ability.

I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in the use of simulation and virtual reality (VR) to support neurodiverse students in higher education. My research aims to enhance teaching and learning experiences for students with diverse abilities. This involves developing student-centred teaching practices that foster inclusion, engagement, and achievement. By tailoring educational approaches to individual needs, the study seeks to improve learning outcomes and empower students with the skills and confidence needed for future employability. Ultimately, the research aspires to create a more supportive and effective academic environment for all learners.
