Terry Lee

Terry Lee is Senior Tutor in Radio & Audio at the University of Bedfordshire and the Coordinator of Radio LaB 97.1 FM, the University’s award-winning student radio station. He also coordinates the BA (Hons) Social Media Content Creation.

He joined the University in 2014, having previously been the manager of Future Radio in Norwich, where he had been working from 2007.

In 2025, Terry was invited to Buckingham Palace to meet His Majesty King Charles III in recognition of his contribution to community media.

Terry serves as an Advisor to the Community Media Association (CMA), the UK’s representative body for community media, having previously served as its Chair—representing the sector in discussions with government, regulators, and industry leaders.

Terry produces and hosts several notable podcasts:

  • Fantastic Noise! — exploring audio production with industry guests such as Trevor Dann, Grace Mailey, and others.
  • The Coeliac Shack Podcast— produced with his young coeliac daughter, the podcast is focusing on life with coeliac disease and gluten‑free living.
  • EmpowerED: Success For All Podcast — designed to raise awareness and share strategies for supporting students with ADHD, Anxiety, Autism, Dyslexia, and Sensory Impairments, produced for the University's wellbeing services.

Overseeing Radio LaB, Terry supports a team of students who manage the output and activities of the radio station. He also mentors students in podcast development—helping them craft stories, engage with audiences, and develop professional skills.

Terry leads a variety of impactful and award-winning audio and community media initiatives, including:

  • On Track in Greensand Country — a regionally focused oral history and heritage project.
  • Ampthill Past Memories — oral histories initiative, for which he serves as Executive Producer.
  • Radio LaB 97.1 FM — a student-run station recognised with multiple national awards since 2014.
  • EmpowerED: Success For All — a University-wide podcast series produced in partnership with the Health & Wellbeing Team. It's designed to support student health, wellbeing, and success and is used by University wellbeing services.

Terry has been a Director of the Community Media Association, the national representative body for Community Media, since 2013.

In May 2015 Terry was voted in as a Clophill Parish Councillor
