Having the opportunity to do the job I love but also undertake a degree at the same time to work towards the job that I have always visualised, has been a dream. Being able to attend lectures whilst also having the freedom to work at home has made the process more enjoyable and less stressful, especially when balancing other work commitments.
It has encouraged me to look deeper into the knowledge that I already have and also allowed me to discover new information that has benefitted my academic and professional practice. It has given me new confidence in my ability, which drives me to complete my Early Years Top-Up and take it to the next level.
I have made friends for life through the course and felt constantly supported by my teachers, making it easier during difficult times. I am so glad I decided to finally take the leap and apply for the foundation degree - this will be one of the best experiences of my life.

Working within a school setting alongside studying for a degree in early years allows me to apply my skills directly. The course offers an abundance of knowledge, ideas and in-depth feedback during sessions. The best part is being able to enhance my professional experiences, by implementing new objectives and techniques gained from tutoring. Working through assignments with hands-on guidance and engaging sessions promotes a very supportive and success-focused environment.
Following this course, I will continue to study towards the BA (Hons) degree in early years. I have gained a promotion in the workplace from this FdA and can continue towards qualified teacher status following the degree. I’m excited to be continuing my journey and I am enjoying the University of Bedfordshire experience thoroughly.
