Jackie Cashmore

Senior Lecturer in Pre-Professional Practice

Jackie CashmoreI have been teaching on the Foundation Degree Healthcare Practice course at the University of Bedfordshire since 2013. I’m the course coordinator and work in partnership with employers to ensure the Foundation Degree is truly working with our stake holders moving forward.

I teach across numerous cohorts of Foundation Degree students and with my background in mental health nursing (I qualified as a Mental health nurse in 1988) I’m available to teach and support the mental health students as and when required. I enjoy the experience of offering a resourceful and innovative approach to teaching at undergraduate and at times postgraduate level.

The course units that I have designed and teach across the school are associated to my current Ed Doc research which is reviewing the role of the health care assistant or support worker and adding value to the patient experience, as I’m an avid believer in offering the best patient-centred care as possible, within the ever changing and challenging world of 21st century healthcare and its challenges and problems.
