I have been attending the Communication Skills class and this has proved to be tremendously helpful in all the areas I needed to improve. I feel at home asking questions concerning my assignments and improving on critical writing techniques which are very essential to my studies at the University of Bedfordshire. The learning environment of the modern Language Centre is quite conducive. Other skills, such as note taking, paraphrasing, dissertation formatting, thesis writing, have been useful in almost all aspects of my course. I remember learning how to prepare a presentation and then presenting in class, this has helped me realise what an actual presentation would be like.

Apart from learning in the class, we were encouraged to learn outside the classroom and shown how to do this using dictionaries and the internet.

I would say this class has boosted my confidence!

The Communication Skills class is one that I look forward to every week at the Language Centre. Everything that I have learnt from this class is applicable to my present academic studies at the University of Bedfordshire. The content of this class is practical and necessary for successful studies at the University.

I have improved and learnt to be more direct and concise in my writing and have learnt new techniques of critically reading documents, which is a skill that every student at the University needs to master to provide excellent assignment work to the tutors.

I would recommend this class to all the students, because real emphasis and practical work is done on topics such as concise note taking, report and critical writing methods for assignments, dissertation formatting, thesis writing techniques, presentation skills, CV and cover letter, interview skills and need I say more........paraphrasing which is practiced and revised continues as this skills is essential in academic writing for studies at the University.

The Language Centre is modern and vibrant, equipped with all the modern facilities such as Language Studio, individual computers, books and magazines to improve the English Language and  for an enjoyable learning experience. The Language Centre staff and the English language lecturers are very friendly and supportive. Their enthusiasm and encourage makes me motivated to do my best in my studies.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my inspiring tutor, Ms Stella Tzampanzi, for teaching me! Indeed everything she has taught has helped me a great deal. The sessions are fabulous, outstanding, and very informative, with great energy. I really enjoy her lessons. She has great passion for delivering the information in a friendly manner, which makes understanding the material much easier.

The communication skills sessions have been a great help in pursuing my pathway to a successful career. Everything I have learnt in this class will help me during my employment processing and in my future career.

This class is amazing and I really enjoy the lessons!

The University of Bedfordshire is not only professional in teaching international students, but the university is also good at taking care of students. All of my teachers/lecturers were great and helpful and also the caring and friendly environment at the University. The facilities at the University are impeccable and the variety of services available made me always feel much supported.

The pre-Masters programmes help me a lot to develop my skills to address and resolve academic problems critically, reflectively and the necessary cultural and study skills for effective learning through the medium of English. Also to engage me in research-led academic study related to the master's programme I intended to join. I received all the help I needed, either with my study or just my daily life issues. They help me as an individual to learn how to interact and talk to people from different backgrounds. Studying at the University of Bedfordshire has been one of my best decisions ever.

When I was still in my country, my uncle, who lives in Bedford, suggested that I do the Foundation Course in Business at the University of Bedfordshire, so I applied for the course. I attended the classes from the start and with the passage of time I acquainted myself with the study techniques. This course has helped me to be a creative thinker and to be broad minded. I also have to mention that the course leads to the degree course successfully. The Foundation Course places much emphasis on the four basic English language skills, i.e. reading, writing, listening and speaking. There are also Business units that are really helpful for my degree course. I love the experience of studying on this course.
