Session 10

Working with Numbers - Correlation and Causation

Looking at any issue there are likely to be multiple issues that need considered. Therefore, having an understanding of how individual variables interact with one another is important. Session 10 introduces basic rationale concepts behind the use of multivariate analysis.

Completion of this session will enable you to:

  • understand how multiple variables may interact with one another
  • appreciate the role of intervening variables
  • be aware of how interpretation of statistics may be affected by outliers and misinterpretations
