You should have a good honours degree (2:1 or above) or masters degree or equivalent in the relevant subject area.

The University has 10 research institutes which focus the research output of University staff, increase and support research quality and help communicate research achievements.
With around 500 research students and 400 academics across the institutes, we have an active and dynamic research community within the University.
Our research institutes have developed a variety of international research partnerships and work across disciplines to enhance the quality of our research.
Research topics gives an overview of research areas covered by the institutes
The research institutes are supported by the Research Graduate School (RGS) which coordinates the quality assurance and administrative arrangements for all students on research degree programmes. It is also responsible for the provision of generic training.
The RGS works closely with research institutes to ensure that all students have appropriate support throughout their studies and access to training and development programmes that will complement their research and provide a foundation for their future careers.
