Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics


Set out over four-storeys and incorporating 6000m2 of teaching and laboratory space, the new STEM building will allow the University to build on its already strong STEM offering. This will include a range of new science courses including Pharmacy, Nutrition, Physics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, along with Geology and Mechanical Engineering.

It will also include a new Science and Engineering Outreach Centre to promote the value of science and engineering to local schools and the wider Bedfordshire community.


Many of our computing courses are accredited by The Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). We have partnerships with world-leading companies such as National Instruments and 7Safe, enabling a career focused curriculum. And with teaching led by world-class research and driven by business projects, you’ll have exceptional career prospects when you leave us.

Scholarships and Bursaries available


For 2018 and February 2019 Academic Scholarships are available on some of our STEM courses.

2018 and 2019 February Start

This scholarship is for students who achieve academic excellence in their studies prior to entering the University. This scholarship is worth £1500 paid as £500 per year if the requested grades or their equivalents are achieved. There is no application process. The scholarship will be awarded automatically to those meeting the eligibility criteria.

This is a cash scholarship and will be delivered in two instalments per year, that is: £250 paid at the end of November (end of March for those registering in February) and £250 paid at the end of February (end of June for those registering in February).

2019

The Merit Scholarship is for undergraduates with an entry qualification score of 112 UCAS tariff points or more, or equivalent, the scholarship is worth £2400 over 3 academic years. The 2019 bursary is for all undergraduates with an entry qualification score of fewer than 112 UCAS tariff points, or equivalent, the bursary is worth £1500 over 3 academic years.
