my role is to work in collaboration with internal and externals stakeholders, to administer and co-ordinate support for students undertaking a placement as part of a PPY course. I help to identify and secure new work placement opportunities for student and liaise with employers offering placements to ensure that a high standard of customer service is maintained throughout the employer’s interaction with the University. I ensure that all elements of an effective student work placement are identified, addressed and monitored throughout the placement. This may include: initial approval, health and safety, insurance cover, clarification of learning outcomes, employer visits, monitoring, collating assignments.


Husnara Begum

My role requires me to predominantly work with undergraduate/professional practise year students who are part of a 4 year sandwich programme. I provide end to end support and guidance to assist them in securing suitable placements. As part of this, our team also source opportunities with internal, external stakeholders and co-ordinate placement arrangements by liaising with students, academics, employers and colleagues across the university. In addition to this, I also support the delivery of Employability Units, which are credit bearing short courses designed to enhance student employability skills.

As an Employability Adviser I support students by guiding and advising to prepare and compete in the UK and international job market. I also deliver workshops and online webinars to support students’ professional skills development. Matthew Harris

I manage and co-ordinate the Graduate Outcomes survey at the University of Bedfordshire and assist with marketing activities. I also support the Head of Service with the analysis of employability intelligence data for external returns. I support students and graduates via weekly drop-ins and guidance slots.
