My role involves identifying employment opportunities for both students and graduates that will help contribute towards the development of employability skills and graduates outcomes. In addition I also co-ordinate and participate in networking events in order to help develop and maintain relationships with employers while promoting the University as a source of student and graduate talent.

My role is to establish and develop links with the third sector in order to identify volunteering opportunities for students which will help to develop their self confidence and employability skills thus improving graduate outcomes. I manage the University of Bedfordshire Volunteering Awards and promote University of Bedfordshire Volunteering to both internal and external stakeholders.

"We support students on over 85 professional practice year (sandwich) undergraduate degrees; preparing them for work, sourcing a placement, the recruitment process and during their placement. The team manage other activities designed to aid in developing employability skills, including a suite of credit-bearing optional employability units from Arabic through to Public Speaking!"

Fauqrull Amin

My role is to work in collaboration with internal and externals stakeholders, to administer and co-ordinate support for students undertaking a placement as part of a PPY course. I help to identify and secure new work placement opportunities for student and liaise with employers offering placements to ensure that a high standard of customer service is maintained throughout the employer’s interaction with the University. I ensure that all elements of an effective student work placement are identified, addressed and monitored throughout the placement. This may include: initial approval, health and safety, insurance cover, clarification of learning outcomes, employer visits, monitoring, collating assignments.

My role requires me to predominantly work with undergraduate/professional practise year students who are part of a 4 year sandwich programme. I provide end to end support and guidance to assist them in securing suitable placements. As part of this, our team also source opportunities with internal, external stakeholders and co-ordinate placement arrangements by liaising with students, academics, employers and colleagues across the university. In addition to this, I also support the delivery of Employability Units, which are credit bearing short courses designed to enhance student employability skills.

I work with all courses based at the Bedford campus including Education and Sport. Specialising in all aspects of routes into teaching and related professions. I am also a member of the Teaching and Related Professions Task Group, Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS).

As an Employability Adviser I support students by guiding and advising to prepare and compete in the UK and international job market. I also deliver workshops and online webinars to support students’ professional skills development. My role also includes one-to-one student interactions exploring future options and helping with job applications and CVs for graduate positions and internships. I am associated with the University of Bedfordshire Business School, School of Applied Social Sciences and School of Art and Design.

I manage careers information resources, both printed and online. I oversee both the careers website & online careers portal, administer finance procedures, collate departmental KPIs, assist with marketing activities and offer support to students via various email and online platforms.

I co-ordinate activities aimed at supporting our final year students and alumni into employment or further study. I work collaboratively with our faculties, partners and other members of the team to promote opportunities, deliver workshops and lectures, and provide support via guidance appointments, drop-in appointments and through workshops; providing information, advice and guidance relating to career entry and career progression.

I manage and co-ordinate the Graduate Outcomes survey at the University of Bedfordshire and assist with marketing activities. I also support the Head of Service with the analysis of employability intelligence data for external returns. I support students and graduates via weekly drop-ins and guidance slots.
