Careers Online

Hopefully you’ve used the Careers platform before now, but if you haven’t, as a final year please don’t delay further! Our Careers Online platform has everything you need to get started with your career. You can get your CV checked for free, use our careers discovery feed to explore your options, book an appointment with an Employability Adviser for tailored support, book onto events, and much more. It’s free any easy to sign up. You can log in now as a student and can create a free alumni account too for when you graduate.

Webinars and Careers Events

Discover what options you have as a graduate, and how to prepare for applications and interviews by attending our virtual events, webinars and Career Ready Summer Programme, run by industry experts, employers, and the careers team.

Our Career Ready Summer Programme is a 2-week virtual programme delivered by employment professionals between 22nd August and 2nd September. You can attend as many sessions as you want, and you will have the opportunity to practice your recruitment skills in a safe environment and receive detailed feedback that will support you with future interviews. 

Careers Service on demand

The Careers and Employability Service are providing a virtual out of hours service for final year students to help with CVs, applications, interviews and Career Planning.

Assessment centre, psychometric testing and practice video interviews

At some point in your job search, you are likely to be asked to attend an assessment day and taking small steps to practice for these tests could lead to big changes in your future.

Following the huge success of our practice virtual assessment centre in 2021, we are delighted to be working with employability experts SRS again to run a practice virtual assessment centre, where you will have the opportunity to practice your recruitment skills in a safe environment and receive detailed feedback that will support you with future interviews.

Graduate Outcomes

At the University of Bedfordshire, we believe that your future shapes our future - and we want to ensure we can hear about what you are doing following the completion of your course.

Approximately, 15 months after you complete your studies you will be asked to complete a national Graduate Outcomes survey capturing your activities and perspectives. To support the survey, we are required to hold accurate personal contact details for you to enable the Graduate Outcomes team to contact you directly to obtain your survey response.

To ensure you can be contacted about the survey, we would be very grateful if you could review and update the personal contact details we currently hold for you. You can update your contact details via E:vision.

Bedfordshire Career Development Award

To help support and prepare you in your final year for the job market, we have developed a virtual careers award. The Bedfordshire Career Development Award allows you to complete activities designed to prepare you for interviews and applications, as well as up skill and undertake essential research into sectors and job roles.

Book an appointment with your employability advisor

As a final year student and graduate, you can access daytime and evening appointments to speak with an Employability Adviser, to discuss career planning, career ideas or your career choices. Employability Advisers can also help with your CV, applications or preparation for an interview or assessment. If you would like to arrange an appointment, please log into Careersonline, and click on Book then Appointments from the homepage.

Find job, internships and volunteering opportunities

Don’t miss out on opportunities. As a Bedfordshire student and graduate you can access our online job board Careers Online to find current part-time, full-time, placement and volunteering opportunities. Use your student ID to log in, and when you graduate, register as an Alumni to ensure you don’t miss any opportunities.

The Graduate Advancement Programme (GAP)

The University of Bedfordshire offers paid work experience and development opportunities for recent graduates as part of the Graduate Advancement Programme, alongside receiving career development support via attending careers workshops and a dedicated careers mentor. We are currently planning that the next phase of the Graduate Advancement Programme will launch for 2022 graduates in August 2022. Alphas

As a graduate, you can access paid placement opportunities in the local area as part of the Alphas programme. Register your interest here. If prompted, please login using your student username and password or register for a graduate account if your student ID has expired.

 

 

The Library

When you become a graduate of the University, you are welcome to apply for free alumnus membership of the Learning Resource Centres. This means you can extend your access to the physical library space and access study spaces and print resources.
