School Direct Routes into Teaching

School Direct Routes in to Teaching

School Direct is a programme intended to help schools take a leading role in ITE by working with accredited ITE providers to deliver training.

The main aim of School Direct is to allow schools to recruit and select the trainees they want with the expectation that they will then go on to work within the school or group of schools in which they were trained, although there is no absolute guarantee of employment.

2017 - 2018

The University of Bedfordshire will be working in partnership with the following Primary and Secondary Lead Schools:

  • Ashcroft High School
  • Biddenham Upper School and Sports College
  • Castle Newnham School
  • Goldington Academy
  • Lionel Walden Primary School
  • Middlefield Primary Academy
  • Mildenhall College Academy
  • Peter Pan Teaching School
  • Redborne Upper School and Community College
  • Sir Christopher Hatton Academy

Subjects offered include Art and Design, Design and Technology, Drama, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Music, Physical Education, Religious Education, Science with Biology, Science with Chemistry, Science with Physics, Social Science, and Primary.
