Deborah Swann
Lecturer in Adult Nursing
I have worked as a nurse for over 30 years in a variety of different roles in varied specialities, having passed my nursing degree in 2005. I began teaching as a member of the Pain Management Team in 2007, and attended Bedfordshire University to teach student nurses as a Visiting lecturer. In 2012 I been teaching nursing and other allied healthcare professionals as a member of two education teams in two local NHS Trusts, both roles included learning using simulation.
I took up my position as lecturer in Adult Nursing in June 2017 and am currently studying to become a fellow in Teaching in Higher Education.
I am keen to develop the learners and offer experiences which match those found in the actual working environment of the NHS.
I am passionate about the correct use of simulation in the learning environment and am researching to develop the use of the current equipment the university holds.
