Individuals, Social Groups, and Organisations

While the work of different researchers has a different emphasis, research in this group as a whole suggests that intra-personal , inter-personal, and collective processes are closely linked.

Members work on diverse topics such as the construction of social identity among care leavers and learners, the cultural use of information technology, the nature of emotionally close relationships, culture and evolution, the experience of stress in organisations , the traumatic impact of socio-economic change, and the role of attachment in understanding collective phenomena.

Staff have collaborated with colleagues from many UK and international universities including Exeter, Kent, St. Andrews, and Ghent and received funding from bodies such as the British Academy and the European Office of Aerospace Research and Development.
