Mayio Konidaris
Senior Lecturer in Social Work
As an advanced clinical mental health senior social work practitioner for over 29 years, I have entered the academic and research field in 2013 as a PhD Candidate in Melbourne, Australia. I have taught undergraduate health science students, social work students on Field Education placement and provided clinical supervision.
I am in near completion of my PhD candidature, which has inspired ways in which to enhance transcultural mental health and social work practice in health settings. This journey also influenced a number of papers presented at a number of national and international conferences around topics related to my PhD research interests, such as in Melbourne (Australia), Leicester (UK) and San Diego (U.S.A).
I am particularly passionate about the continued professional growth and self-care of the social work profession and ways in which our cultural selves and identities influence clinical practice.
