Senior Tutor - Teaching & Practice Coordinator (Business Management)

Dr Lemun Yatu holds a PhD in Business management with a focus on Entrepreneurship and enterprise development in emerging economies. He joined University of Bedfordshire Business school as a Senior Tutor in Business Management and the coordinator for Teaching and Learning at the Birmingham Study Centre.

He was previously with De Montfort University and has taught on the University of West London Business program via a private institution provider. Prior to that, he was at Birmingham City university Business School and the University of Worcester Business school as a visiting Lecturer in Business Management, Strategy, HR and Entrepreneurship.

Lemun's primary area of research interests are Entrepreneurship, SME Growth, International Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship Education and enterprise Development in emerging economies.

He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), which demonstrates his teaching philosophy and commitment to encouraging experiential learning. He believes in giving students the opportunity to learn by doing, to think outside the box and to challenge conventional norms. This process critically engages students in real-life applications of what they have learnt.

In addition to his teaching and research experience, Lemun has consulted for United Nations Industrial Development organisation (UNIDO) on a Human capacity development initiative which centres on entrepreneurial skills development in sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to joining the academia, he worked within the financial services industry as an SME Financing Consulting where he was providing business and financing service solutions to Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) across Sub-Saharan Africa.
