How to apply

Please read this section carefully before submitting an application

The list below constitutes the ‘essential elements’ of an application and the minimum requirements for the University of Bedfordshire to consider and process applications. Any application which doesn’t contain documents 1 - 4 will be automatically rejected and applicants will be required to start the process again.

  1. A fully completed application form
  2. Personal statement outlining the chosen course of study and the University of Bedfordshire (for direct applications)
  3. One letter of reference or name and contact details of at least one referee
  4. Copy of current passport

Supporting or additional requirements which the University of Bedfordshire will require at a later stage of the application process.

  1. Copies of English Language examination results (if NOT available at the point of initial application being submitted)
  2. Copies of academic certificates/transcripts or information relating to a current course of study or qualification being used to apply (if NOT available at the point of initial application being submitted)
  3. Copy of previous UK visas and any visa refusal documentation from any country
  4. Any other requirements of your chosen course e.g. portfolio, work experience or ATAS information

A fully completed application should consist of the following:

  • Full submission of application via our online portal. To do this, find the course you are interested in, go through the course options and then click 'Apply now'.
  • A reference or contact details of your referee
  • A personal statement which is course and University specific
  • English Language qualifications if available at point of application
  • Transcript/certificate or student record if available at point of application.
  • A portfolio or specific supporting evidence if requested
  • Copy of passport

Applications should be made as per requirements listed on www.ucas.com including contact information, academic history, qualifications taken or currently being studied, a personal statement and usually an academic reference from a school or college teacher. Our UCAS institution code is B22 and the institution name is BED.

Students who apply via school counsellor departments and/or educational agents-representatives should ensure their third party details are provided in the 'Correspondence address' section of the UCAS form.

The applicant name should be in the first line of the address, and the agency's name (and office if they have more than one office) in the second line.

If your third party has their own UCAS 'buzzword' we would highly recommend that you submit applications using this buzzword. We also recommend that the third party(s) are included as the 'Nominated contact' on the UCAS form. Please use the agency name rather than the name of the individual counsellor.
