Every year we welcome students from Malaysia onto undergraduate and postgraduate courses. We are a truly international university with students from over 100 countries. We accept a wide range of qualifications for entry to study, some of which are outlined below.

Entry requirements

Year 1 Undergraduate

  • SPTM with 3 principal passes
  • A-levels (minimum 140 points)
  • International Baccalaureate (24 points)
  • Matriculation Certificate (GPA 2.2)
  • Recognised Foundation year with good pass

Year 2 Entry

  • Applications are considered by Admissions and Faculty so please forward details of your application directly to teamc@beds.ac.uk or your local representative

Year 3 Entry

  • 2 years at Malaysian University (subject to academic decision)

Postgraduate

  • Bachelor’s degree (2nd class or better)
  • UK Bachelor’s degree with Honours
  • A recognised pre-Masters qualification in a related discipline

English requirements

  • SPM 1119 (when accompanied with the Cambridge GCE certificate)
  • IELTS: 6.0 overall with 5.5 or more in each band
  • Cambridge Advanced / Proficiency: grade C, “weak” or above in each band

  • Download an application form - PDF 1.0 MB and email our Admissions Team at teamc@beds.ac.uk a completed version with the necessary supporting documents, which are:
  • Copies of your official academic qualifications and certificates, including proof of your level of English Language (where relevant)
  • A one page personal statement. This should tell us why you want to study your chosen course and why at the University of Bedfordshire. More advice on writing your personal statement here
  • A copy of your current valid passport details
  • Please submit copies of any UK Visa that you have held and any documentation relating to previous visa refusals from any country

For undergraduate students after the first year of study with us standard published fees for 2019/2020 will apply for future years of study at the University of Bedfordshire.


Scholarships

The Scholarship scheme for international students enrolling in the academic year 19/20 is as follows:

  • An automatic £1,000 Vice Chancellor's Scholarship for new international applicants (undergraduate and postgraduate).
  • A £500 Prompt Payment Discount for students who pay their first year fees in full before or at registration. An additional £750 Prompt Payment Discount for each years 2 and 3 for undergraduate international students who pay their second/third year fees in full before or at registration.
  • £500 for Postgraduate students meeting our Merit Scholarship criteria (60% and above marks in your academic subject with an average IELTS score of 6.0 with 5.5 in each band).
