2010 Conference

University of Bedfordshire Conference 2010

'Bridging the Gaps'

Date: 6-7 July 2010 (2 day event)

Venue: Luton campus (Park Square and CETL), Luton, LU1 3JU.

The University of Bedfordshire Conference 2010 combines for the first time the annual Teaching and Learning Symposium and the annual Research Poster Exhibition and is taking place over two days in July (6th-7th) in the Park Square campus in Luton. So bigger and even better! This integrated event provides an opportunity for colleagues to share the excellent work they are undertaking in 'teaching and learning' and/or 'research'. The change in format for both events is an example of bridging the gap that sometimes surfaces between teaching and research, stimulated by current work on Research Informed Teaching across the University.

The Conference theme 'Bridging the Gaps' not only enables our work on Research Informed Teaching to be highlighted, but also many other ‘bridging the gap’ examples, for example, between: employers and Higher Education; cultures and countries; established researchers and postgraduate students; and the curriculum and the world beyond. Embedding PDP and employability had been the main theme of the University's Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) over the last five years - the Conference 2010 coincides with and marks the end of the CETL.

For presenters and delegates, the UoB2010 Conference provides a range of opportunities: plenary keynotes and panels; parallel session presentations and discussion; a poster exhibition/market place; and, lots of time to network.

Whether you're contributing in a session or joining in the discussion, we look forward to seeing you at the Conference.
